    CIMC Raffles is a 100% subsidiary company of CIMC Group, which is an international corporation providing high-quality offshore equipment and contract services to clients all over the world, there are 4 Offshore and Marine Research & Development Centers, 3 offshore construction bases and 3 operation companies with nearly 10,000 staffs. The core business includes EPC, repairing & conversion and technical service of drilling rigs, production platforms, offshore supply vessels, ocean farming, offshore wind mill, etc. CIMC Raffles is also involved in platforms operation and leasing services.


    The history of CIMC Raffles can be traced back to Yantai shipyard which was established in 1977 and delivered the first bottom founded rig in 1978. Now the company is one of the first batch of seven "white list" offshore enterprises, published by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. CIMC Raffles has delivered a total of 36 various types of offshore projects with more than half for international main clients. CIMC Raffles has rich experience in design, construction, commissioning and delivery of deepwater platforms, 9 of which are deepwater semi-submersible drilling rigs accounting for 80% of the total domestic market. CIMC Group also set up Offshore Engineering Design & Research Institute of CIMC in Shanghai in 2012, acquired well-known Swedish design company Bassoe Technology in 2013 and also acquired of another well-known Norwegian design company Brevik Engineering in 2015. These three companies possess rich capabilities in concept and basic design of deepwater platform and FPSO which build a brand new interactive research and innovation cooperation between China and Europe. CIMC Raffles delivered the world's most advanced ultra-deepwater semi-submersible drilling rig “Bluewhale I” which is equipped with an efficient dual hydraulic hoisting drilling package in February, 2017.
